Imose Technologies has opened a tablet production and repair centre at the Benin
Technical College in Edo State in a strategic move to boost local content while
empowering young Nigerians with technical skills.

The Imose Tablet Production and Repair Centre which was commissioned by The
Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, today will train an initial 100 students with
the skills to produce and repair tablet computers.
Chairman of Imose Technologies, Osayi Izedonmwen, noted that the “Centre will
ensure intensive training of students to enhance their employability. I thank the
governor for his educational reforms in Edo State that made the siting of the Imose
Technologies Tablet Production and Repair Centre possible.”
The strategic partnership with the Edo State TVET (Technical, Vocational, Education
and Training) Board enabled the location of the Imose facility at Benin Technical
College grounds.

Izedonmwem said the idea behind birthing the Imose Tablet Production and Repair
Centre, among others, was to create opportunities for the students to be self-
employed and self-reliant.
He disclosed that the centre was engaging over 100 students from the Benin
Technical College on a six-month intensive training of which at least 40 per cent are
female in line with Sustainable Development Goal 5 to achieve gender equality and
empower women and girls. In addition, they could secure internship positions with
Imose Technologies as they graduate from the training programme.
Izedonmwen added that the location of the production and repair centre in Edo is
born out of the need to increase the percentage of local content of the company.
“The programme is in furtherance of our commitment to build a robust technological
base in Nigeria. As you know, most devices and smartphones that are used in the
country are imported. We as a Nigerian company, Imose Technologies, believe that
the time is right for Nigerians to produce what they use,” he said.
A student of Benin Technical College, Miss Oluchi Favour China, while hailing Imose
Technologies, said, “The programme would begin with lessons focused on repairs
and progress into the production aspect.”
